Hund is a historic place lies on the right bank of Indus River and is said to be the crossing point of Alexander the Great. It also has some ruins of the Mughal era Red Brock Fort. It is also known for the Ghaznavid invasion marking the beginning of the Islamic era and end of the Gandhara period. Therefore, Hund is considered an archaeological treasure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa because it remained the capital of the Hindu and Turk Shahi for nearly three hundred years.
